Flymore Inc. was established in 1998 as a private flying club with one plane. The goal of the club was to foster a cost effective way for students to learn to fly and experienced pilots to have cost effective access to aircraft in the Tri-City (Saginaw, Bay City, Midland) Michigan area.
History
The club was established by two area pilots and quickly joined by a third in the late 1990s. The club started with just one Cessna 150L. It became the work horse training plane, which has been used by many local flight instructors to start many new pilots into a lifetime of flying and in some cases a career in aviation from career airforce pilots to rescue helicopter pilots.
The second plane added to the club a few years after starting was a Piper Archer II which was added primarily to give area pilots access to a good longer distance plane.
The third and to date last plane to join the club is a Cessna 170A Tail Dragger. This plane was added to give pilots a chance to experience the thrill of old time flying at its best.
Today
- The club remains the premier flying club in the Tri-City Michigan area.
- It still offers the same opportunity to learn to fly at a very cost effective rate and experiences pilots a chance to continue using their license with access to three different types of planes.
